The East Africa Alpha Conference
Friday 28 & Saturday 29 June 2019
At the East Africa Alpha Conference 2019 we will explore how to break down barriers to the gospel, cultivate a culture of unexpected hospitality and unpack the practicalities of running Alpha. We will consider how in a culture rooted in Christianity we can ensure head knowledge is turning into heart knowledge, where individuals are in relationship with Christ and their church communities. All while encouraging a deeper dependence and expectancy on God’s Spirit.
We will join together in times of teaching, worship, prayer and group discussion to discover how evangelism can become an integral part of our churches mission across East Africa.
Don’t miss this unique conversation and experience to join with churches, leaders and volunteers from across East Africa:
You will hear real, hope-filled stories from individuals putting evangelism at the forefront of their church's ministry.
You will discover key learnings and best practices from church communities effectively sharing Jesus across East Africa.
You will have a chance to receive more from God for yourself and your team through moments of all-out worship and expectant prayer.

What is Alpha?
Alpha is space where people outside the church can explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open, honest and informal environment.
It runs in churches, bars, coffee shops, prisons, schools and homes. Typically, Alpha has around ten sessions and includes food, a short talk and a discussion at the end where guests can share their thoughts.
Millions of people have tried Alpha in over 100 countries. Alpha runs in every part of the global church, including the Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church and all mainline Protestant denominations.
Who is The East Africa Alpha Conference for?
The East Africa Alpha Conference is for anyone passionate about transformation. You could be a church leader, on a staff team, a volunteer, someone who loves alpha, and anyone in between. If you are longing to experience spiritual renewal in the local church, hungry to see more people come to faith across East Africa, and looking to create space for listening and hospitality as a way of reaching your community - then this is for you.
Do I need to be running Alpha for this conference to be valuable to me?
No. This is a unique conversation for anyone passionate about the Church. We will showcase the ways leaders and communities are sharing the good news across East Africa. You will hear stories of churches who are reclaiming the power of listening and rediscovering the art of hospitality. And together, we will celebrate the unprecedented movement towards a growing unity in the Church across every dividing line.
Will this conference just explain and promote Alpha?
Though we love Alpha and are obviously biased towards it, we even think a conference like that would be a little boring.
No, this is a conversation around what we are facing as the church today across East Africa. At Alpha, we work with many churches from many different denominations and contexts and we have noticed a need for this specific gathering.
Our greatest desire for this event is for your lives and communities to be touched and renewed by the power of the Spirit. We trust that through intimate moments of worship and waiting, we will receive “more” from God in transforming ways.
